We are all excited that you surpassed 3k and earned the next step in advancing. 3k+ DVM one on one calls are focused on you and questions you may have. A little more information on your Division Manager.
Nick Smith leads the South Texas Division with Cutco and has spent over 17+ years building one of the top performing organizations in the country. Multiple national championships and a track record of developing people who go on to win in many areas of life, both inside and outside the Cutco business.
That standard is not built on talent. It is built on daily discipline.
Over the years, systems were built, structure was established, and the organization scaled. On May 31st, 2025, during a cycling training ride, everything changed. Nick was hit during a ride, resulting in multiple skull fractures, broken bones, and the loss of senses most people take for granted.
When he was not able to be around at the same level, the team began to slip. The kind of moment that forces a decision. Slow down, or rebuild.
Going into 2026, the choice was to rebuild.
Not all at once. Day by day. Focused on getting better, even when progress was not obvious. Identifying strong leaders within the organization and step by step leading South Texas back to where it was, and beyond.
With a new perspective that tomorrow is not guaranteed, Nick committed to testing himself physically again. Seven months after the wreck, he completed his first full marathon in McAllen. Not just to finish, but to prove he could still perform. Then came Ironman Texas 70.3 in 2026, 9 months and 29 days after the wreck. Less than a year removed, there was real adversity. Mentally challenging moments on the bike. But through faith and grit, he pushed through, delivered a personal best time, and qualified for the World Championships. While Nick took on these events to prove to himself that he could, it became something bigger. He is proof that it can be done.
What we go through is not meant to break us. It is meant to build us into who we are called to be. With strong faith, the belief is simple. God does not give us hard times to break us, but to build us. Through Him, anything placed in front of us can be overcome as long as we are willing to keep going.
Show up daily. Do the work whether it feels good or not. Stack enough disciplined days together and the outcome takes care of itself.
This is not about motivation. It is about becoming someone who follows through. That is what gets built here. And that is what carries into many areas of life.
